Do you Believe IN God or do you BELIEVE GOD?

Do you believe in God?

On the surface it seems like an easy question. As a Christian, we are called to be Believers.

When I am asked that question, my answer is Yes. I believe in God.

But the question that has been haunting me lately is not do I believe IN God, but do I BELIEVE GOD?

When you take out those two t{in}y letters the question becomes much more powerful.

There are countless people who believe IN God. But what does it look like to Believe God?

If you have followed and read any of my blog in the past, you know that emotionally 2016 was a tough year. As tough as it was, I never stopped believing IN God. I continued to pray, I asked others to pray and I sought strength with fellow believers. I would not have made it through the last year without some form of Belief.

As I reflect on what 2017 and beyond might look like, I find myself going beyond believing IN God, to Believing God.

Or to put it another way, Trusting God.

For the remainder of 2017 (and beyond), I am choosing every day to Believe God. I am seeking out his message to me. Yes, God speaks to us. Whether He speaks to us in dreams, through a sermon at church, through friends, or through other signs, He speaks to us every day.

If you don’t believe me, that is ok. But just open your eyes, your ears, and mostly your heart, to know God is speaking to you. You can believe Him when he says “I Love You.” There will be signs of his love in places you never imagined.

I have been a witness to God’s extraordinary love over and over. So many times I have lost count.

I have felt inadequate in expressing my thanks to friends and family, and even to God.

But He has never left my side. He has held my hands during the dark days, cried with me, celebrated with me, and continues to offer me Hope every morning as I continue on this new path.

Today I choose to Believe God. To Believe God can and WILL make something beautiful from the ashes of the past.

DO YOU BELIEVE GOD?

Kim you are a reflection of God’s love for you. Others see it in the way you have faced the trials in your life and the way you are embracing your future and the unknowns it holds. Rest assured that I will continue to pray for you and to believe God has a plan for you to receive the abundant life He promises us in His Word. Hang in there, like you always do, and know that you are never alone on your journey.
